The U.S. Life Saving Service was stationed up and down the coast to save the lives of sailors that were in distress. Old Harbor Lifesaving Station is a Cape Cod National Seashore site that provides interpretive and educational opportunities for the general public. Volunteers for the Beach Apparatus Drill will participate in a cannon demonstration and breeches-buoy rescue with interpretive ranger staff.
